The Albanian operated in midfield alongside Matty Palmer in the first half but was moved to the left-side of the back three for the second period, however captain Kyle Cameron is expected to return in that position on Friday, meaning the 23-year-old will likely return to central midfield at the expense of Austin. Notts County vs Maidstone United Prediction, Head-To-Head ... (SportsUnfold)

Since the 3-1 setback against Dorking Wanderers in the middle of September, the Magpies have won each of their past four league games...

However, given Notts Countyโ€™s outstanding league run, we anticipate a comparatively easy home victory. Needham Market, a team that competes in the Southern League Premier Division Central, defeated Maidstone 1-0 in the meanwhile. However, Notts County will enter this game coming off a shocking loss, falling to Coalville Town 3-2 at home on Saturday in the FA Cupโ€™s fourth qualifying round.

And, shortly after the break, the Teessider turned provider when he couldnโ€™t quite get his shot off and wisely opted to lay the ball off to Rodrigues instead. Stones keeper Mersin looked strong favourite to claim the loose ball but, in typical fashion, Langstaff nipped in to force it home. It felt like a matter of when, not if, however and we finally had a thoroughly deserved lead on the stroke of half-time when Langstaff battled brilliantly for a ball in the area, getting his head to it and looping it on to the bar.

Notts County v Maidstone LIVE: Team news, match updates and ... (Nottinghamshire Live)

Live updates from Meadow Lane as the Magpies look to continue their quest for promotion from the National League as they host Maidstone on Friday night.

Many questioned the changes made by Luke Williams on Saturday, but the Magpies boss is expected to field a more familiar line-up this evening. Macaualy Langstaff not to be denied a second time this evening, reacting quickest to smash home his 16th goal of the season, already! The Magpies have the chance to open up a four-point gap at the top of the National League with a win, putting the pressure on Wrexham to go to Boreham Wood to get a result. What a goal from Ruben Rodrigues. After having one ruled out, he has finally got his goal. Luke Williams has named a strong side this evening as Notts look to remain top of the National League this weekend. Regan Booty starts in midfield and he will be looking to spoil the Notts County party this evening. Brilliant tackle in midfield from Bajrami to turn possession over sees the ball eventually fall to the feet of the Notts skipper, however he drags his effort just wide of the mark. Notts County stretch their gap at the top of the National League table to four points following a comfortable 3-0 win over Maidstone. Notts County will be looking to tighten their grip at the summit of the National League table when they welcome Maidstone to Meadow Lane on Friday evening. As always, our Notts County reporter Oliver King will be live from Meadow Lane to provide team news, match updates and reaction from the Notts boss following the game. And the visitors suffered a similar fate to Notts in their FA Cup fixtures last weekend, losing to Coalville Town and Needham Market.

Stones sign Greenidge (Kent Online)

Maidstone announced the signing of defender Reiss Greenidge before last night's game at Notts County.

"I thought he was big, he was strong, he was commanding. I know we lost, this sounds really strange, but I saw positive signs there." "I think he did really well," Hayrettin told Stones TV.

Five things we learned from Notts County's 3-0 win over Maidstone (Nottinghamshire Live)

It was a controlled and comfortable performance from Luke Williams' side, with goals from Macaulay Langstaff, Rodrigues and Cedwyn Scott putting Notts back on ...

Notts are currently averaging 2.71 points at home, compared to a league average of just 1.64. Palmer has been one of the most consistent performers under Williams this season and does the simple stuff effectively, often going unnoticed for his brilliant performances in midfield. It's hard not to mention his name, but 16 goals in 14 National League games so far. Whilst it was a comfortable evening for the Magpies defence, a sixth clean sheet of the season is something to be extremely proud of this season. But there is simply no way of keeping this man quiet, and he was quickest to react to his initial headed effort to smash the ball in off the 'keeper to get the goal Notts' possession deserved. Langstaff is yet to go more than two games this season without finding the back of the net and thought he had scored a sublime opening goal with an instinctive finish, only to see the linesman's flag raised on the far side after Rodrigues was thought to have got a touch on the cross into the area. [The Albanian's flexibility was highlighted from the Magpies boss](https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/luke-williams-identifies-brilliant-notts-7723604) in the build-up to their encounter with the Stones, and it was another battling midfield performance from the 23-year-old, breaking up play and often drifting into wide positions to create space for Rodrigues and Palmer to pick up the ball in dangerous positions. During the game yesterday, the pair were influential in breaking up the few Maidstone attacks and keeping the pace of the game moving in Notts' favour to ensure the contest was played at the high intensity Williams expects from his side. And with that performance and goal, Rodrigues explained he was keen to kick on and bring those numbers up this season, with a tough trip to Wealdstone the next test for the 26-year-old. His understanding with Aaron Nemane caused Maidstone all kinds of problems, perfecting that inch-perfect pass inside of the opposition full-back on a number of occasions which allowed the Magpies to create a number of openings from the wide positions. It was a brilliant overall performance from the Portuguese, who worked tirelessly all afternoon whilst producing a number of brilliant pieces of skill, including adding to his nutmeg counter with a quite brilliant turn on Reiss Greendige that almost saw the ball rifled into the roof of the net. The midfielder spoke about his eagerness to find the net from open play after his second goal of the season at Woking two weeks ago, and his strike against Maidstone was some way to get off the mark.
