I can't have the fact that they're not trying - they are giving everything but are not executing what's needed to keep us in the game. We'll have to be quite creative with it because more than realistically it's a loan market and we're limited with how many loan players we can have at one time. Millwall 3-0 Rotherham: Tom Bradshaw double steers Lions to victory (Sky Sports)

Report and free match highlights from the Sky Bet Championship clash between Millwall and Rotherham at The Den as two goals from Tom Bradshaw either side of an own goal earned the Lions a dominant victory. Sunday 1 January 2023 17:13, UK.

We need to improve our game understanding and execution - and get a little bit of confidence off the back of that. Our performance was really good - but I feel for the challenge of trying to put a team out with so many injuries. It's been a good week - every team is capable of taking points so to take seven in a week with three clean sheets and to score goals, is testament to the character of the players." I thought we switched the play really well - we made some brilliant runs off the ball and it looked like a really proactive performance. Bodies and minds are what we need. We started a little bit sloppily but overall, I thought it was a really good performance.

EFL goals and round-up: Blackburn win; Millwall and Luton into top six (Sky Sports)

Blackburn returned to winning ways, Millwall cruised past Rotherham 3-0 to move into fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship, while Lutons comeback 2-1 win ...

Abo Eisa's goal with his first touch proved enough to earn Mark Hughes' side a second consecutive victory. It was a tough afternoon for most of the teams in the play-off spots with Swindon beaten 1-0 by lowly Colchester, who moved five points clear of the bottom two, and Mansfield falling to a 2-1 defeat at Walsall. Carlisle missed the chance to close the gap on the League Two automatic promotion places to a single point with a 2-1 defeat to Doncaster. League One leaders Plymouth extended their advantage at the top to seven points after a 3-1 win over MK Dons. Sunderland slipped to sixth, despite rescuing a 1-1 draw at Blackpool thanks to Ross Stewart's ninth goal of the season. Bradshaw struck either side of Cameron Humphreys' own goal at the Den to propel the Lions into fourth spot, while the Millers are languishing a place outside the drop zone having taken only two points from the last 24 available.

More woe for Millers ... on-the-whistle report: Millwall 3 Rotherham ... (Rotherham Advertiser)

INJURY-RAVAGED Rotherham United slipped closer to the Championship relegation zone as they kicked off the new year with a heavy defeat at Millwall.

Subs: Robbie Hemfrey, Jamie McCart, Hamish Douglas, Jake Hull, Tolaji Bola. The game petered to its conclusion with Rotherham, in approach and personnel, looking a shadow of the side that had inspired such optimism before the World Cup break. A second Lions goal was coming and not even a keeper in the form of the Swede could do anything about it when it arrived. Callum Styles floated in a free-kick from the left and Tom Bradshaw, a transfer target for the Millers back in 2016, nodded home at the back post. Soon after the interval, the Millers put together a good passing move that ended with Odoffin's shot failing to match the quality of the build-up and going out for a throw-in. It was always going to be a difficult afternoon and the depleted Millers did themselves no favours by falling behind with only three minutes and 18 seconds on the clock.

Millwall seemed to gain a spring in their step since doubling their advantage, asking question after question of the Millers rearguard. It would be the Millers to blink first in the cruellest fashion. The Millers couldn’t capitalise on their early spell on top in the second half, as the momentum of the game appeared to shift into no man’s land. The wing-back delivered a peach of a cross towards the head of Odoffin. Callum Styles unleashed a powerful volley which Johansson could only palm away, Styles was first to the loose ball and clipped it back towards the goalscorer Bradshaw. Millwall came flying out the gates from the first whistle, keeping the Millers pinned to their own half.
