Everton vs Brighton: How to watch live, stream link, team news (NBC Sports)

Everton vs Brighton live: The Toffees will try to snap a five-game winless skid when they host the up-and-down Seagulls at Goodison Park on Tuesday.

Cody Gakpo is not on the bench, while Fabinho and Harvey Elliott are fit to start and Andy Robertson is on the bench. The team news is out and the big news is there is no Ivan Toney. Their player recruitment has been excellent this year and the Cottagers finally look like the steady Premier League team they crave to be. The Foxes looked destined for another European push but instead they’ve been struggling along and are in a relegation scrap. Liverpool are getting the job done and even though they weren’t great against Leicester they are picking up wins again and are back in the top four hunt. A corner is whipped in and the ball comes off Konate’s left knee cap and flies into the bottom corner. The offside flag is up and VAR confirms it is no goal. However, moments later a fine cross from Jensen from the right finds Wissa and his header creeps over the line and the goal is given. It is no fluke they’ve beaten Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Man United and now Liverpool since they were promoted to the Premier League in the summer of 2021. Christian Norgaard: Brilliant ball for Mbuemo to clinch the win and he is so underrated. The Dane held things together in midfield expertly and is always so calm when he wins it back. Most worryingly for Klopp there appeared to be a lack of hunger and desire as his side were battered and didn’t really look up for the fight.

Everton raid on Man Utd takes big next step with contact made over ... (Teamtalk.com)

An attacker could swap Manchester United for Everton in the January transfer window after Frank Lampard's side reportedly initiated contact over the deal.

It is now up to Everton to get this move over the line. Indeed, Elanga is yet to complete a full 90 minutes in the league this campaign. They claim Everton’s pursuit of the attacker has reached the next stage, with Toffees chiefs contacting their Man Utd counterparts to begin initial talks about a January deal. Man Utd have enjoyed a successful return to action following the World Cup break. While leaving Man Utd for Everton would be a step down for Elanga, he may well be considering the switch. The Toffees lost 2-1 to Wolves on Boxing Day.

Everton line-ups for Brighton as Anthony Gordon and Tom Davies ... (Liverpool Echo)

Our writers have picked their starting line-ups for the clash with Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Coming in for the Belgium international should be Anthony Gordon, with Ben Godfrey moving into midfield. That means sticking with the three-man defence and what will likely be another containment job against one of the slickest passing sides in the division. [Dominic Calvert-Lewin](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/all-about/dominic-calvert-lewin) and Ben Godfrey to go again after long injury layoffs. The natural replacement may be Abdoulaye Doucoure in terms of style and stature, although the Mali international has been a shadow of his former self when handed chances this season. Tom Davies, who has performed well when called upon, gets the nod in this XI. The former Norwich City man was exceptional at the Etihad on Saturday and his pace and power is just what the Blues need in the middle of the pitch - although both Tom Davies and Abdoulaye Doucoure would be right to feel aggrieved if they were to miss out. [Frank Lampard](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/all-about/frank-lampard) has a number of dilemmas to contend with for the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion, as the Toffees seek to postpone the January blues for the majority of those in attendance at Goodison Park. With the FA Cup clash against Manchester United on Friday looking less and less of a priority, the manager can afford to roll the dice and then rest them for the weekend. Rather than draft in either Abdoulaye Doucoure or Tom Davies - who both came on as subs against City - in a like-for-like switch, hopefully Anthony Gordon has recovered from illness to return to the starting line-up and provide a more attack-minded option to enable Frank Lampard to keep his three at the back but have more firepower going forward. The draw at the Etihad needs to be a platform for brighter times ahead in 2023 after a horrific slide of four consecutive defeats before it.

Everton transfer news live - Elye Wahi update (Liverpool Echo)

Everton transfer news, rumours, gossip and speculation including updates on Chuba Akpom, Anthony Elanga, Anthony Gordon, Chris Perkins, Largie Ramazani, ...

Since joining the club, he has scored 16 goals in 78 games in the 1st and 2nd Spanish divisions. The 20-year-old has started just six times this season and recent opportunities have been limited. Brighton ended the year with a 4-2 defeat to Premier League leaders at the Amex on Saturday night. "We have to start the game strongly. We’ll see what the future has in store. Everton are being linked with a move for Almeria star Largie Ramazani as well as Montpellier forward Elye Wahi. An England Under-20 international and confident dribbler, he was once dubbed the 'Guernsey Grealish'. The report goes on to claim that Everton want the Spurs man to take on a similar role on Merseyside and are hopeful they can persuade him to return. Everton are now 4/11 to be relegated following their draw with Manchester City at the Etihad at the weekend. The Portuguese manager enjoyed a positive relationship with the Mali international and was looking to add depth to his midfield for the second-half of the campaign.

Everton step up January pursuit of Man Utd winger - Pundit Feed (Pundit Feed)

Everton have ramped up their interest in young Manchester United forward, Anthony Elanga, according to reports published by TeamTalk and Football Insider.

United value Elanga in the region of £18m and a fee in that range would help to loosen the purse strings at Old Trafford and could allow ten Hag to pick up a striker with greater pedigree in January. United boss Erik ten Hag would be understandably reluctant to allow Elanga to leave without a suitable replacement coming in, though a permanent sale of the 20-year-old could free up the cash the Dutchman needs to bolster his own squad. However, Elanga has struggled to convince new United manager Erik ten Hag of his merits since the summer and the youngster, who has been picked to start just twice in the league since September, is now a peripheral figure in Manchester.
