Arsenal vs Newcastle LIVE: Kick-off time, TV channel, team news ... (Football.London)

football.london's live coverage of Arsenal vs Newcastle United as Premier League action continues at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal now have the added pressure of a title race to contend with. This leaves Mikel Arteta with a thin squad in the forward areas amid injuries to Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Jesus. He’s been managing it for a couple of months but it’s got to the point where it’s too painful for him to carry on. Many speculated that the price tag somewhat weighed on the player despite his own dismissals of this. Upon his arrival at Arsenal, however, it became relatively clear that the transition from France to England wasn’t going smoothly. The Ivorian arrived with a big reputation having taken Ligue 1 by storm, scoring 22 goals and recording 11 assists. When I say a couple of months, I’m including the break in that as well. Congratulations." By contrast, Mikel Arteta has a near full-strength squad to choose from.

They took Leeds apart and were unlucky not to get another win on their tally for the season. But here's the tweet anyway, and now we can all have a look at a mildly celebrating Martinelli. Saka got on the loose ball and went down in the box, but the referee waved it away... The players are on their way out of the tunnel now... Their last game was one only it's mother could love, a 0-0 draw against Leeds United in the pouring rain at St James' Park. Mr Almirón is top of the goals while Saka heads up the assist chart. The referee blows for a foul on Saka by Joelinton... For some reason, he doesn't decide to shoot, instead playing it across goal and the right-back cuts out the pass! Arsenal deserve to be winning, but Newcastle are 100% still in this game. That was the sound of 60,000 hearts falling out of their trouser legs. Saka is back up and hopping around like a happy rabbit. Somewhere, Erling Haaland's supercomputer mind and legs are working out that it's only another 50 goals to win the league...

Arteta rage shows Newcastle must be taken seriously (The Star, Kenya)

Newcastle made it their business to drag Arsenal out of their smooth approach work and into an attritional encounter — and it was mission accomplished.

Newcastle, however, were the more satisfied team on this night. Arsenal still could have won it only for Newcastle keeper Nick Pope to thwart Eddie Nketiah with his legs late on, but 14 wins, two draws and only one loss, at Manchester United, are hugely impressive statistics. As for Arsenal, one night of disappointment should not be cause for too much disappointment.

Arsenal vs Newcastle United : Lineups and LIVE updates (Goal.com)

It's a big one, as league leaders Arsenal face dark horses Newcastle United in a feisty Premier League encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have the second-best attack in the division, with only Manchester City scoring more than their 40 goals so far this season, while Newcastle have the meanest defence in the league, having conceded just 2 goals in their last 8 league outings. Newcastle sit third in the table with only one league defeat all season, and none on their own turf. The North Londoners have only dropped four points all season, but this will be one of their toughest tests.

Arsenal lose their cool as Newcastle test title credentials (ESPN)

When his Arsenal needed cool and calm, Mikel Arteta fed into the chaos, as the league leaders were frustrated to be held to a 0-0 draw by Newcastle.

This time last year, Newcastle were second-bottom of the Premier League and facing the real prospect of being the richest club in the Championship until Howe dramatically transformed their fortunes and steered the team away from relegation danger. Arteta has brought some much-needed passion back to Arsenal, on and off the pitch, but he now needs to tone it down and learn to balance it out with calmness. Arteta has done a remarkable job in his three years as Arsenal manager and could deliver their first Premier League title since 2004 this season, but he needs to calm down on the touchline to help make that happen. They are still in the driver's seat, but it will be a long five months between now and the end of the season. They had plenty of flair on the pitch, but Arsenal didn't know how to use it, and their inexperience shone through in this game. 22, Arsenal are going to have to find a Plan B to win games if they are to clinch the title.
