Bristol Rovers recovered from an early setback to record a 2-1 victory at Cambridge.

Looking to hit back, Smith was again close for Cambridge on 63 minutes when he hooked James Brophy's cross over. Rovers hit back on 22 minutes when Josh Coburn ran onto Aaron Collins' through ball and beat Will Mannion at the second attempt after the keeper saved his initial effort. Smith was denied a second soon after but James Belshaw tipped his header from Ben Worman's corner over the bar.

Match Report - Cambridge United 1-2 Rovers (Bristol Rovers)

Joey Barton made three changes to the side that started the game against Cheltenham Town last Sunday, with Ryan Loft, James Gibbons and Luca Hoole replacing ...

Finley conceded a free-kick in the 86th minute to give the hosts a free-kick in a decent position out wide. Collins and Sinclair toyed with the U's defence in the 79th minute to win a corner. Five minutes of added time were to be added as Marquis found himself in the referee's bulging notebook for a foul. The U's forced a corner a minute later and were demanding a penalty for handball; referee Parson was non-plussed. From it, Evans played it short to Finley and the opportunity was wasted. Smith went close to an equaliser for the home side in the 62nd minute, as his strike from the edge of the area narrowly flew over Belshaw's bar. Rovers continued to play on the front foot and Finley seemed to have his shirt pulled as he looked to drive into the area. Coburn was felled in the 51st minute and referee Parsons didn't award a free-kick but did stop play so the striker could receive treatment. The ball had spun away, with Collins about to drive for goal again, but play was halted and, after a lengthy delay, Seddon was stretchered off. In the 41st minute, Collins was pulled back by Cambridge debutant Seddon, and a yellow card followed. The Gas then went in front, thanks to referee Parsons, who waved play on after Thomas was fouled. After treatment, the 'keeper was able to continue.

Cambridge vs Bristol Rovers live: Updates and reaction from Abbey ... (Bristol Live)

Live coverage as Bristol Rovers travel to the Abbey Stadium to take on Cambridge United in League One.

It's a tough situation, that. Stay tuned throughout the afternoon for updates and reaction. Josh Coburn made it nine goals for the season by scoring from Aaron Collins' through ball at the second attempt before Scott Sinclair scored what proved to be the winner, sweeping home Luca Hoole's terrific cross. The home fans are not pleased as the Rovers boss drops the ball at the feet of a Cambridge player as he tries to take a throw-in. It's right to stop the game for a head injury, but it's a gilt-edged chance for Rovers. The loose ball breaks for Collins and he drives towards the box but the referee stops play for a head injury. It is taken short and Rovers patiently try to work a better angle for the cross, but Finley's delivery is headed away by Bennett. Hoole does very well to get in the way of Smith's shot after a cross made it through a crowd of bodies to the far post. Marquis slices a dangerous cross out of play for a Cambridge corner, but it is headed away to safety at the near post. The ball finds Hoole wide right and his cross deflects out for a corner. The ball comes in from the left and Smith strikes it first time, clipping the top of the crossbar. It hits Marquis in the wall and bounces out for a throw.
