Demystifying Cataract and the types of lenses (The Times of India Blog)

As of 2021, cataract causes vision loss to over 66.2% of India's population of people between 50 to 90 years. The government has taken extensive measures to ...

The type of lens is chosen based on what the patient spends the majority of their time doing. With the advent of technology in the ophthalmological space, there are numerous types of cataract lenses available. Cataract refers to the gradual clouding of the lens of the eye. Earlier, only one type of lens was used which led to the removal of the problem of cataracts however, did not provide any improvement in vision. If impaired, vision can be fixed through different types of cataract surgeries where the cataract is extracted and replaced with a brand new lens that provides optimal vision. Since cataract surgeries have permanent effects, it is essential to know the types of lenses that can be used for your surgery.

Viewing Data Security Through the Lens of Human Impact | (Spiceworks News and Insights)

Stephen Cavey of Ground Labs discusses the importance of a human-centric approach to data security and how that would benefit enterprise security strategy.

No one is entirely safe from cybersecurity threats — but this means everyone has a role to play, whether implementing best practices in their daily lives, educating customers and employees, or ensuring that they are protecting users’ sensitive data to the best of their ability. This mounting pressure to protect data and people demands that companies approach cybersecurity from a bottom-up, human-focused angle to mobilize support from executives, employees, and users. Given the tremendous variety and frequency of possible threats, automation is necessary to protect data at scale. If automated security tools are self-sufficient and effectively omniscient, the reasoning might go, then why would humans need to make much of an effort to keep data safe? In the C-suite, this means knowing where all data is stored since companies can’t protect data they don’t know exists; if data is a stand-in for a person, then not knowing the location of all data is equivalent to leaving those people behind. It may be more motivating to re-examine the problem from a human angle; a security slip-up can hurt many people if thieves steal data and commit identity fraud. As a result, the human angle of security impacts employees in two ways. It exists to protect people’s safety and the ability to control what they put out about themselves. But the typical reaction of “It won’t happen to me” is often insufficient to spark true vigilance. Yet, a human-centric approach to improving cybersecurity is more important than ever. This year’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month focused on the role everyone – including executives, cybersecurity professionals, and consumers – plays in keeping data safe from harm. A human-centric approach to improving cybersecurity is more important than ever.

Canon RF 15-30mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens (PhotoReview.com.au)

RRP: AU$969; US$549.99. Build 8.9. Handling 9.0. Image quality 8.9. Autofocusing 8.9. Versatility 8.5. Photo Review 8.8 ...

Test shots showed the review lens to be very flare-resistant, which is surprising since it is supplied without a lens hood. This section of the barrel is 31 mm wide and carries low-profile slider switches for Focus/Control ring settings and switching stabilisation on and off. As anticipated, resolution declined towards the edges of the frame for both JPEG and raw files, although not quite to the degree we had expected. At the front of the outer barrel is the control ring, which is approximately 12 mm wide and is mostly covered with a dimpled grip band. An un-ridged band around the rear edge of this ring carries focal length settings for 15mm, 20mm, 24mm and 28-30mm focal lengths. Immediately behind the Focus/Control ring is the zoom ring, which is 40 mm wide and mostly clad in rubber ridging. The inner barrel extends by about 10mm when the lens is zoomed from 30mm to 15mm. However, this lens is not weather sealed and no dust- and moisture-repelling coatings have been applied to the front and rear elements to reduce the need for frequent cleaning. Canon doesn’t specify which materials this lens is made from but it appears to be mainly plastic – although the mounting plate is definitely made from metal of some kind. This lens is not particularly fast – a consequence of its design, which prioritises light weight and a relatively compact size. On cameras with full-frame sensors it covers a very wide angle of view at the 15mm focal length. Autofocusing is driven by a stepping motor, which is quiet enough to enable it to be used for shooting video.

Then, in the 4-1 win over Monaco, he even played as a defensive midfielder - and still managed to score one goal and set up another. The midfielder played as a No.8 against PSG, but was positioned higher up, as a No.10, against Marseille. The Premier League's loss in Lens' gain! Fofana was exceptional in the win over Paris, which shouldn't have surprised anyone. The veritable heartbeat of Franck Haise's Lens team, Fofana was targeted by Premier League sides in August, but the 27-year-old Ivorian international feels a strong attachment to Les Sang et Or… "With Seko extending his contract, the club is sending out a strong message," said wildly popular coach Franck Haise.
