The Wizards are currently 12th in the Eastern Conference and 1.5 games out of 10th place. The [Golden State Warriors](https://www.goldenstateofmind.com) are currently 21-22 overall, while being 4-17 on the road. In order to do so, the Wizards will need to start making moves in the standings soon and this game, against a team that has struggled on the road, seems like a good opportunity to start that upward trajectory, despite being underdogs.

I thought Jerome played a lot better than the stats would indicate. DiVincenzo has quickly turned into one of the most consistent players on the team. He came out with a vengeance in this one, dropping in 17 points in the first quarter alone. He then chilled out for a while, and turned on the afterburners in the fourth quarter to help the Warriors pull away in the final moments. I don’t need to say anything about JP because his game did the talking for him. Then, in the fourth quarter, a fan got into it with him, apparently trolling Green about his Hall of Fame status. Not a bad game for Looney, but not a particularly good one either. [Boston Celtics](https://www.celticsblog.com) and [Cleveland Cavaliers](https://www.fearthesword.com), but that’s a concern for later in the week. He responded with 11 fourth-quarter points, and completely dominated the frame. He anchored a defense that showed more grit than it has most of the year when on the road, and put on a clinic with the passes. Grades are weighted based on my expectations of each player, with a “B” grade representing the average performance for a player. Wizards — I don't even think they were a lock to make the play-in before the season started, and that is ringing true so far. I really think they should make bigger swings than that, but that is my prediction.— Marco Gacina (@MarcoGacina) Reply below to join the conversation, and turn on Tweet notifications to stay in the loop.
Stephen Curry was honest with himself and his teammates after a loss on Sunday. Their performance on Monday indicate they heard his message.
“Draymond was unbelievable in the fourth quarter, two big 3s,” Curry said. Taking the lead on a step-back jumper by Curry with 5:54 remaining, the Warriors closed with a rush, outscoring the Wizards 29-12 over the final 8:40. “Steph was incredible down the stretch with his shot-making, and Draymond with his defense and playmaking. And not get rattled when they went on a run.” For Curry and Green, fully aware of their 4-17 road record, it was “go time” or fold time. It was Jordan Poole, with 26 first-half points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field, including 5-of-8 from deep, that kept the Warriors from getting buried. “And as Steph has done so often, he carried us home.” That’s the weight that Steph carries.” Aside from a two-minute stretch when Curry scored eight points, his first half was uneven. There was a sprinkling of frustration in his tone, but his mood expressed conviction with a splash of defiance. “Steph and Draymond led the way,” coach Steve Kerr said. “It’s whatever it takes at this point,” Curry said on NBC Sports Bay Area’s "Warriors Postgame Live," after Monday's win.
