3 changes, big returns; Celtic Predicted XI vs Dundee United (67 Hail Hail)

Celtic take on Dundee United at Tannadice today, returning to the scene of a 9-0 drubbing for the Taysiders the last time Ange Postecoglou's side visited.

Again, the manager has excellent options in attack so it’s hard to predict who he’ll go for beyond Kyogo Furuhashi. In defence is where we could see two major returns to the line-up after injury. He’s made crucial saves in recent matches against Kilmarnock and St Mirren – the expectation is that he’ll be tested at some stage today.

Dundee United vs Celtic – LIVE updates (Scottish Daily Record)

It's a famous fixture in the Scottish football calendar and has yielded an eye-popping 17 goals in two meetings this season.

There's still some ways to go, of course, and a clash with But a bright start from the champions. Eye of the needle pass from Jota finds his goal hungry strike pal but the man of the moment miscues and it lands in the away end. But bright and full of intent from one of the men who makes Celtic tick. The winger was primed to strike but had a change of heart and his lofted ball for Kyogo was all wrong. Well, a chance to lump it into the box and Sibbald's curling ball almost finds Fletcher before it lands in the grateful hands of Hart. This time his strike lacks the curl needed to find the back post but he is bright as a button here. Don Robertson says foul only but a cynical pull back from the full back after a heavy touch. Not only a striker, he's well up for getting physical in the middle of the park. Celtic fans reckon the defender is underrated but sometimes he gets his feet in a tangle and a crass clearance draws a sigh from pal Carter Vickers. VAR is checking for offisde which seems to indicate a penalty but now the referee is heading to his monitor. And the Australian is inches away from the perfect cross for Abada.

Dundee United vs Celtic VAR watch as two penalty calls overturned ... (Football Scotland)

Don Robertson and Euan Anderson had a busy day at Tannadice and it wasn't a good one for the man in the middle.

Celtic fans might point to yesterday's red card for Nicky Clark at Ibrox and it would be a fair comparison with both high but there was no intervention from Anderson on this occasion despite a check from the VAR official. During the second half, Liel Abada went down under a challenge that was quickly checked by VAR but nothing came from it. Kieran Freeman put his hand out to block a ball through from Jota and the Portuguese winger could be seen screaming for it right away and no wonder. Within 10 minutes of the second half starting, Robertson was sent over to the monitor again to check a handball. VAR official Euan Anderson then spoke to him and rightly told Robertson to go to the monitor and he then overturned his decision after looking at replays. A ball over the top saw Dundee United goalkeeper Mark Birighitti come out and punch the ball clear and while doing so, he was challenged by Kyogo.

The visitors had 18 efforts at goal to the home side’s four. Jota came close again just into the second half before putting Celtic ahead. What a ball from Mooy and the man of the match is there to score as Birighitti gets his angles all wrong. And the Australian is inches away from the perfect cross for Abada. VAR is checking for offisde which seems to indicate a penalty but now the referee is heading to his monitor. The recent write-up has talked up a team with a real steel and it’s there for all to se today. Another goal for the man who has earned a cast-iron place in the starting XI. But that’s been about as much of the drama there has been in the Celtic box this half. Celtic are homing in on another win as the man of the moment finishes with aplomb. Mooy’s cross drifted over the head of Birighitti, who seemed to be taken by surprise by the arrival of Jota at speed and the Portuguese winger squeezed a header in from a tight angle. The champions made it a remarkable 21 wins in 23 games after a sinking Dundee United in the second half. It’s a famous fixture in the Scottish football calendar and has
