The 3-1 result snapped a six-game winless run for Melbourne while it ended a four-game unbeaten run for Wellington.

Melbourne Victory to sign Lyon defender Damien Da Silva (KEEPUP)

Damien Da Silva is bound for Melbourne Victory in the Isuzu UTE A-League after his departure from Ligue 1 side Lyon.

Da Silva arrived at Lyon on a free transfer in 2021 and he amassed 29 appearances for the club. He is a former captain of Rennes, where he was part of the club’s stunning Coupe de France triumph over Paris Saint-Germain in 2019. The 34-year-old last started for Laurent Blanc’s Lyon in January’s Coupe de France win over Metz.
