Morgan Whittaker will be a part of Swansea’s team for the remainder of the season after a move to Scottish giants Rangers did not materialize in the closing stages of the transfer window. Forward Troy Deeney is anticipated to rejoin the team in about a week. After suffering an Achilles injury in the preseason, midfielder Liam Walsh returned to action in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Newport County last week. They couldn’t be separated again in a goalless draw after a 2-2 draw in the first leg. Goals at both ends have been scored in seven of Swansea’s last eight competitive games, including the last five. Blackburn, on the other hand, defeated Birmingham 1-0 on the road in a FA Cup fourth-round replay on Tuesday.

The designated stadium for this match is the Swansea.com Stadium or Liberty Stadium, located in the city of Swansea in Wales. Swansea City has a somewhat encouraging outlook, although it is not exactly the best. It was inaugurated in 2005 and was baptized as Liberty Stadium and although it changed its name to Swansea.com in 2021, the stadium is still known as Liberty. Finally, the city council decided to build this stadium near the Tawe River where the Morfa Stadium was formerly located. Swansea continues to fight to climb further up the table, and for this, goals are needed. Despite the current momentum, Birmingham has managed to pick up a couple of points with several wins. Despite moving away from the relegation zone, they are still in danger, as they are in 19th position in the table with 32 points, one point behind Stoke City and Bristol City. Don't miss a single detail of the match update and commentary from VAVEL's coverage. Their last five results have been two defeats, two wins and a draw. Birmingham has won on three occasions while Swnasea has won none. In the midst of their squad, they have a natural goal scorer. The other two results have been draws.

The Swans completely controlled the first-half but fell behind to Scott Hogan's early penalty. Some fine passing from the Swans here, and there's a bit of needle between the sides after some meaty challenges. Ruddy made a mess of an attempted volleyed clearance, and the ball fell to Piroe who had the straightforward task of slotting into an empty net to make it 3-2 in what was proving to be an entertaining second-half. Hannibal then goes down after failing to beat Cabango and handles the ball on the deck. Terrific work from the Swans to get back on the ball, and Whittaker almost goes through on goal, but he's offside. Luke Cundle and Morgan Whittaker replaced Ntcham and Cullen respectively as Swansea looked to ensure they maintained their grip on the contest after a marginally better spell from the away side. It was no more than the Swans' efforts warranted, and the confidence continued to flow through the veins of those in white and black as the Jack Army fed off the energetic display from the hosts. It was exactly what the Swans deserved, and they continued to dominate the contest in what looked like a 45-minute attack versus defence drill. The Swans stuck to task though and continued to create chances and cause John Eustace's side problems - with Birmingham desperately struggling to carry a threat given the home side's control of the ball. Ben Cabango took a huge risk with a header back to Fisher, and Reda Khadra took full advantage by pouncing on the loose ball before going down under a challenge from the Swansea goalkeeper - who was duly yellow carded - in the box. The Swans fully dictated proceedings from the outset and created an early opportunity to bulge the net as Ntcham played Piroe through on goal, although Ruddy did well to smother the Dutchman's strike. But Piroe capitalised on a mistake from John Ruddy soon after to notch what was his 12th goal of the season as Swansea looked destined to secure victory until Lukas Jutkiewicz headed home in the 90th minute to set-up a tense finish - with Trusty then heading beyond Andy Fisher from a corner to earn the away side a dramatic win.
