Derby County vs Lincoln City LIVE: Build-up and highlights (LincolnshireLive)

The Imps visit Pride Park on a high following their battling 1-0 victory against Bristol Rovers on Saturday, with Regan Poole heading in what proved to be the ...

Unfortunately the Imps don't have a goal to show for their efforts though and that might be detrimental. Eiran Cashin almost punished for a horrendous blunder as he cleared the ball straight into the legs of Diamond. It's gorgrous from McGoldrick who turns Monstma before laying Dobbin in down the left. Derby almost caught out by a short free-kick routine as Diamond receives the ball with plenty of time and space down the right. McGoldrick is the initial beneficiary, with the veteran striker choosing to pick out Hourihane. After Mendez-Laing looks to be away on the counter, Erhahon intercepts the ball and sets Montsma away. Scott Oldham reaches into his pocket and shows the striker a second yellow card, and now Lincoln will have to play this last 35 minutes a man down. A cross from Mendez-Laing drifts to Louie Sibley who has space in the corner of the box. (43) GOAL LINCOLN The winger is forced wide, with his eventual shot being turned away by Wildsmith. (63) Substitution for Lincoln (69) Goal Derby

Derby County vs Lincoln City player ratings as Rams held by 10 ... (Derbyshire Live)

The Rams failed to win at home in the league for the first time in 2023 as they were held by a stubborn Lincoln City side.

Hooked at the break. Superb from the Rams’ talisman once again. Sibley agonisingly hit the crossbar from just inside the box whilst McGoldrick had a goal ruled out for offside. Rock at the back once again. Showed a touch of quality whenever he was on the ball and took the shot that fell to Hourihane. Got on the ball a good amount in a deep role in the first half.

Despite soaking up a lot of pressure, the Imps managed to break forward in the 74th minute as Lasse Sorensen headed forward to Diamond who drove towards goal before angling his shot into Wildsmith’s gloves. The Imps went close early on as Jack Diamond played a clever one-two with Ted Bishop which opened up a shooting opportunity for the forward who rattled the outside of the post from a tight angle.

Match Report Derby County 11 Lincoln City (Derby County Football Club)

Derby County returned to Pride Park in a spot of Sky Bet League One action on Tuesday evening as they came from a goal behind to draw 1-1 with Lincoln City.

Derby then finally found a deserved equaliser in the 69th minute as Hourihane poached from close range to level things up. Momentum shifted back in the Rams’ favor one minute later as Lincoln went down to ten men. Under pressure from Eiran Cashin, House closed in on the penalty area and delivered a cross that none of his teammates were able to connect with. Derby were growing into the game nicely and could have easily taken the lead three minutes later following an excellent display of one and two-touch football in and around the Imps’ area. The wide player leathered his shot towards goal from close range, but saw his effort crash back off the near post and go out for a goal kick. Club captain Curtis Davies remained on the bench, leaving Craig Forsyth to don the armband in the absence of injured vice-captain Max Bird.

Sibley then rattled the crossbar deep into injury time with a thunderous strike before McGoldrick saw another shot saved. Lincoln’s Diamond created the first opportunity of the second half as he raced through on goal seemingly unopposed. Bishop’s initial effort was saved well by Wildsmith, but Shodipo prodded home the rebound to open the scoring despite serious calls for offside. Under pressure from Eiran Cashin, House closed in on the penalty area and delivered a cross that none of his teammates were able to connect with. Lincoln picked up their second yellow card of the evening shortly after as Paudie O’Connor clattered into Nathaniel Mendez-Laing on the right flank. The wide player leathered his shot towards goal from close range, but saw his effort crash back off the near post and go out for a goal kick. Derby were growing into the game nicely and could have easily taken the lead three minutes later following an excellent display of one and two-touch football in and around the Imps’ area. Shodipo provided the initial threat on the wing before his cut-back made its way through the box uncontested. Club captain Curtis Davies remained on the bench, leaving Craig Forsyth to don the armband in the absence of injured vice-captain Max Bird. Paul Warne delivers honest Derby County verdict after Lincoln City ... (Derbyshire Live)

The latest Derby County news as the Rams boss gives his reaction to the 1-1 draw against Lincoln City.

“At times in the second half with good play we did create chances but in the guilt edge moments we weren’t good enough to take it. So it might be a point gained rather than two points lost because we weren’t at our best, and normally against any team in this league, any one can beat you when you’re not on song and tonight I didn’t think we were.” “We just had a few too many players probably not at their best, not through a lack of effort, just probably weren’t on song. “Disappointed, frustrated, maybe I got the team wrong so I have to take responsibility for that. Lincoln were then reduced to 10 men after 55 minutes when Ben House was shown a second yellow card. But they found themselves behind against the Imps before the half time break.

Derby County vs Lincoln City talking points as Shodipo opens Imps ... (LincolnshireLive)

It was the first time Lincoln City had taken any points away at Derby in a league fixture in their history.

Kennedy was certainly not pleased with the officiating, ““Mide (Shodipo)’s offside, that’s the bottom line. He was the same in the home game against Mendez-Laing, who is a really really good player. You can’t be making mistakes like that at this level, I’m really annoyed with that tonight,” Kennedy admitted. Mark Kennedy was full of praise for his young defender, commenting after the game, “I think defensively he’s the best left-back in the league, and I’ve told him that, and I’ve said it many times. He’s come out on top every game, he’s got loads of development left in him, but his really asset value is as a person. I look at all the top sides we’ve played, and all the top players Sean’s played against.
