Burnley 4-0 Huddersfield: Vincent Kompany's Clarets looked two ... (Daily Mail)

MIKE WHALLEY AT TURF MOOR: Neil Warnock has never been the sort of manager who needs a reality check, but Burnley decided to give him one anyway.

The one setback for Burnley was an injury to Maatsen, carried off on a stretcher after slipping and suffering a nasty fall while chasing back with substitute Brahima Diarra. The views expressed in the contents above are those of our users and do not necessarily reflect the views of MailOnline. The keeper then beat away a Barnes near-post flick following a Johann Gudmundsson corner, but was exposed by those in front of him as Burnley extended their lead. Hjalmar Ekdal was given time and space to play the through ball, Gudmundsson went round the corner, only to have the goal pinched from him as Connor Roberts nipped in to finish. Burnley's Johann Gudmundsson put in a man of the match performance in their 4-0 victory - Burnley showed their class at the top of the Championship with thumping win

We'll be live with all the build-up, team news, match updates and reaction from Vincent Kompany throughout the day to see if the Clarets can pick up three points at home against the struggling Terriers. The Terriers are the visitors to Turf Moor this afternoon. What I like about Burnley is if they've got to battle, they battle. It's not common to have your full-backs making runs in behind from inside psoitions. Neil Warnock has also returned for a second spell in charge of the Yorkshire club. They are 12 points clear of second-placed Sheffield United as things stand.

Burnley 4-0 Huddersfield Town highlights and reaction as it happened (Yorkshire Live)

The Terriers make the short trip to Lancashire to take on Vincent Kompany's talented side hoping against reasonable hope that they may be able to come away ...

Burnley's final ball has just been superb too, to their credit - they've got in behind from multiple angles and varying distances. He gets into the box and unleashes a fierce swerving shot that the keeper tips over the bar. Nominally a back four, Kasumu and Camara are dropping in to make it a six, but nobody seems quite sure what their space is or who their man is. Good work by Town as Rudoni wins a tackle and play the ball to Koroma, who knocks it over the top for Ward. Burnley work the ball out to the right about 40 yards from goal and Ekdal spots Tella's run in behind Headley and picks him out with precision. He can't hold it, opting to punch it clear instead, and the man following up the loose ball is called offside. He looks to be in a lot of pain. Lovely ball over the top by Diarra looking for Waghorn (who came on for Ward just after the fourth goal) inside the box, but he knows he's offside and checks his run hoping someone might get onto it instead. In from Rudoni but Ward can't meet it. [The Terriers](https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/all-about/huddersfield-town-fc), meanwhile, sit in the relegation zone, four points from safety but with a game in hand over all the sides directly above them in the survival fight. [Huddersfield Town](https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/all-about/huddersfield-town-fc) face the toughest fixture anyone can take on in this season's Championship calendar as they visit runaway leaders Burnley in Saturday afternoon's 3pm kick-off. [Neil Warnock](https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/all-about/neil-warnock) has not been shy in his praise for Vincent Kompany's Clarets, who have gone unbeaten in the league since early November and opened up a substantial 12-point gap at the top of the table.

Runaway leaders Burnley extended their Championship unbeaten run to 14 matches with an emphatic 4-0 victory over relegation-threatened Huddersfield Town.

The Chelsea loanee was carried away on a stretcher. [Burnley](/topic/burnley) completely dominated a first half in which they had 82 per cent possession, and could have scored more than three before the interval. Burnley’s second, in the 18th minute, was well worked, albeit aided by Huddersfield slackness.
