I think it's really great how she is helping to normalize pole dancing as a legitimate form of exercise and art form." Some of Ali's fondest memories in Oman are of time spent in nature — from "magical" childhood camping trips in the country's wadis, or oases, to diving in the Gulf of Oman, she said. The morning she met Al Maskari and her husband it was sweltering, giving them little time to shoot before Al Maskari's portable pole became too hot to touch. Ali's contribution, which she also exhibited at the international fair Paris Photo last fall, is a love letter to Oman's land and people, "highlighting the beauty, imperfections and strength" that bind us, she explained. Gracefully extending herself horizontally from her pole, she aligns with the peaks above Muscat, a single fluid line across the picture plane. Ali, who currently works between Oman and Bahrain, began practicing pole dancing herself while living in London years ago.

Addressing gender-based disinformation and aggression against women in electoral management requires a comprehensive approach that involves a range of stakeholders and recognizes the intersectional nature of the issue. To address the issue of gender-based disinformation and online aggression against women in electoral management, it is crucial that the steps are taken with a context-sensitive and intersectional perspective. In extreme cases, these online attacks against women in electoral management may lead to non-acceptance of electoral outcomes and electoral violence. International IDEA survey indicates that most of the victims of disinformation attacks in the online space are electoral officials in high-ranking positions. The impact of this type of aggression is significant, as it can undermine trust in democratic processes and erode public confidence in the ability of women to lead. These campaigns often use false information, rumors and other forms of disinformation to create doubt on the capacity of women in electoral management to deliver free, fair and transparent elections.

Police probe woman over sodomy claims (Daily Monitor)

Police say they suspect the woman is fabricating information to taint the image of her partner with whom she is battling a divorce case in court.

She tried to gain leverage over the family conflict by portraying her husband as dangerous to their children and yet the findings established that their father did not pose any adverse risk of harm to their children,” he said. The case files were submitted to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), where it was established that the complainant had maliciously fabricated allegations against her husband and advised that the case file of sodomy and aggravated defilement, be closed and put away for lack of sufficient evidence,” Mr Enanga said. The police also investigated a related case file of alleged domestic violence against the woman. “As a result, the mother, father and children were interviewed by a specialist CID team trained to investigate incidents of child sexual abuse. In the two previous complaints, the complainant was found to have maliciously fabricated the allegations against her husband, after no proof of inappropriate or sexual behaviour was established between her husband and their two children,” Senior Commissioner of Police Enanga said yesterday. The anti-gay groups have exerted pressure on the police to investigate the matter.
