Rotherham United v Cardiff City: Live updates (WalesOnline)

The Bluebirds travel to Yorkshire to take on the Millers in their final Championship game before the international break.

Philogene with a lovely ball to release Kaba down the left. Throw-in to City high up the pitch. He's had a terrific start to the game. He has only the keeper to beat - but makes a mess of it. Cardiff's players are lurking on the edge of the tunnel. Cardiff break and Kaba plays in Ojo.

"Match referee Oliver Langford initially suspended play to allow the surface the opportunity to drain, but following a period in the dressing rooms, the pitch had not cleared and upon a further inspection, the game was called off. Once the rain eased, groundstaff started to attend to the pitch with main problem areas being on the perimeter of the pitch at either side of the Mears Stand, which was under several inches of surface water. The players left the pitch on the orders of referee Oliver Langford in the 48th minute after the heavens had opened in a short, but heavily intense deluge.

O’Dowda made a marauding run from deep – and with no Rotherham challenge – the ball was played to the right flank. Following a lengthy delay, the referee came onto the pitch for two inspections with both managers, Taylor and his Cardiff counterpart, Sabri Lamouchi but with no improvement in the state of the playing surface, the referee – with consulation from the EFL - finally called time on the game at 4.56pm. The game restarted – with Taylor making a further double change – in the shape of Peter Kioso and Georgie Kelly – but with the downpour getting heavier, the referee brought the two captains together before deciding to temporarily suspend play with 48 minutes on the clock. A cross was dinked to the far post whereby Viktor Johansson was backtracking nervously, and the Swedish stopper was unable to parry the ball to safety and O’Dowda appeared to nod the ball back to Philogene, who had the simple task of tapping the ball into the unguarded net from close range. The Millers fans were in full voice prior to kick off and they were soon off their seats when Chiedozie Ogbene showed fleet of foot to force a corner from Callum O’Dowda, but the pressure was released on the visitors from the resultant set-piece. The clash was postponed with just 48 minutes on the clock - with the Bluebirds leading thanks to Jaden Philogene’s first-half strike - following a series of inspections by the referee and both sets of managers.
